If my son was like "Dad I don't feel like a boy", I'd explain to him that 'being a boy' is not something defined by others. He is a boy, and so he defines what that means.

If a man wants to dress up in a skirt, that's fine by me. But why is he trying to call himself a woman? What does that have to do with anything? There is no rule saying men cannot wear skirts. There is no rule saying woman have to wear skirts.
To me it is the same thing with race no? You can wear dreads if you want. That doesn't make you black.
