Qui-Gon is not a Grey Jedi unless you mean he adhered to the other definition of not complying with the council or not being in the Jedi Order, because he was clearly a light-side user.

I haven't reached much of the legends material, but in the movies, he was in danger of falling to the dark side; throughout the OT, he was predominantly a light-side user. Dealing with some DS temptations is not the same as being a DS user

Everything material. Desiring power is literally the whole point of being a Sith. In the Darth Plagueis novel, Sidious killed his entire family and then joined Plagueis.

Dooku wasn't a true Sith, he was a Sith as a ends to an means. I think you could argue he was a grey Jedi. And Luke had his own version of force-lighting that was "Purified" iirc
