Well that's the thing, you don't really land anywhere anywhere, you land on wherever there's empty flat terrain available. I mean you wouldn't try to land a plane on top of a jagged rock formation and go about your business, you'd end up damaging your plane. And you don't really need the rover to haul your ass everywhere, it's just there to cut down on the time it would take to travel on foot, unless you wanna go full on Forrest Gump.
