this happens ALL. THE. FUCKING. TIME. in america. i have seen jobs firing their master employees, i have seen jobs not even attempt to retain the top or near the top performing employees, i have seen companies fire people for petty personal tiffs or minor political reasons, i have seen people fired for saying "nigger", i have personally been fired when i'm the only person they have to work on critical projects WHILE ALSO BEING THE NUMBER ONE PERFORMER ON ALL TEAMS AND SHIFTS, way back in highschool i saw the night shift at the food service department in the hospital i worked at get excused without having completed over 50% of the work needed for the next day and we were cleaning dishes, trays and carts as needed and barely fucking made it (the bosses didn't lift a fucking finger to help), i could go on and on
