Not a lot happened, just exploring more buildings and catching mons until I crossed paths with Mercury:

Outside of that I found the first gym, apparently ran by this girl Veronica, which I guess got shoryuken by her mom, going through the roof and into the streets, talk about parental issues...
My playthrough is moving at a glacial pace uh...?
