Fullbring arc kept telling us how sad and miserable Ichigo was without Rukia, so much so that Orihime had to beg Rukia to help Ichigo. Rukia returns his powers in a very emotional and poignant scene that calls back to the beginning of the manga (the death and the strawberry II) and then... They proceed to only speak once for the rest of the manga and furthermore the final chapter confirms that they haven't seen each other for years, so much for being soulmates lol
