Question for siderealists:
How do you make sense of modality in a sign? The cardinal signs begin at the equinoxes and solstices, that's what makes them cardinal. How could this possibly play into a system based solely on the constellations and not on the Sun's relation to the Earth?
Also, wouldn't it make more sense for the constellations to be based on the zodiac, rather than the zodiac be based on the constellations? Especially since constellations open us up to all kinds of debate, like including Ophiuchus. If we arbitrarily arrange the stars maybe there are actually 14, 15 signs? Maybe more? Why not? Meanwhile tropical is based on the 4 cardinal directions of North South East West, the 4 elements (East is fire, etc) then multiplied by 3 for the three modalities to fill the seasons/quadrants.
