Slavery is not just good, but a moral obligation in certain cases. A dominant civilisation that has a claim to a valid code of ethics, is guilty of inaction if it does not enforce those ethics consistently to the extent it does not tolerate deviation from a portion of the population unable or unwilling to abide by it’s laws. Furthermore, many times a civilisation has no option but to resort to a continuation of slavery by other means to avoid it’s own destruction (and the invalidation of it’s self-enforced ethics); the industrial-military complex being one such example (notionally). And in the context of Jumpchain, the multiverse is replete with such races: Demons, fae, the Chinese. There are some beings so fundamentally anathema to prosperity and spiritual wellbeing that the only valid case for coexistence is to grind them firmly under a boot as Solomon once did. Conversely, some species canonically find happiness in slavery like house elves. It is not to say slavery is inherently bad, merely that implementation and targeting are often suboptimal.

Actually I celebrate everyone else’s birthday these days. Due to Eden technically existing before space-time as conventionally understood, having eventually become a magitech singularity that just automatically comes into existence in every universe with a civilisation in it, and having performed a higher dimensional version of the Anchoring of the Thread that binds my own creation to my own actions rather than any external force.
I don’t celebrate birthdays because I don’t have one anymore. Also happy birthday!
