I think it's because powerscaling isn't a critical part of the story most of the time, and can even get in the way at points. Not necessarily the powers themselves, but more specifically how it scales with others.

However, stuff like historical accuracy and social politics can be critical to a story the comic is trying to tell. While sciences and biology just look weird when out of place.

Personally I never care too much, as long as it doesn't become too dumb, but I can see how other people can have a lower tolerance for that kind of thing
