Gohan only looked taller to look cool in that part of the arc, after the Cell Game (in the lookout) Gohan looks tiny again, shorter than Krillin, who looks more like a midget than in the tournament too, basically the same as 7yo and 8yo Goten and Trunks in the next arc. And no future Trunks didn't grow up differently either, we canonically see him looking taller than kid Trunks but shorter than adult Trunks ONE single day of his life and it's in the same year as the last time we saw present Trunks as a kid so that just tells us the year Trunks starts growing into his adult-self, the next time we see both version of Trunks he's already a saiyan adult just like Gohan was in the Buu arc.
