hair protects against chafing and sharp rocks; beard hair covers the jugular against slashing, pubes protect against too much humping, armpits are hairy for a mixture of both - swinging arms and the occasional stabbing. Humans' extra-abdominal fat (blubber) is only seen on us and marine mammals, in our case we evolved it to protect the soft organ-containing abdominal cavity against sharp sticks. The oldest campfires and sharpened stone blades we've found are ~3.5 million years old, but the oldest homo sapiens bones we've found are maybe a tenth of that. The animal we are was created by millions of years of murder. Every single thing you experience should be looked at through that lens before you can truly understand it.
