They think they can just buy a personality.
It's why they have these big themed rooms that all look the same because they're all buying the same shit, the same slot-together wall LEDs, the same merch, the same white IKEA furniture so their "decorations and the lighting can POP!"
And it all looks like branches of the same ugly store.

There's nothing in these rooms that tells me about the person living there, beyond "I LIKE BIDEOGAYM :D" nothing that says what they've done or where they've been or where they come from or who they come from.
One of the most important things I have in my room is this little Pass The Pigs game in its old box. Because it was from my grandmother's house and my brother and I used to play it while watching Mr Bean when we would visit her for the weekend as kids.

There's nothing like that in these rooms, because they've just decided to throw as much money as they could to buy a personality.
But you can't buy a soul.
