Are alternatives where there's something similtar to the MC being killed but without being necesarelly a permadeath or getting a game over?
Like how GTA instead of game over simply resets the player state in a nearby hospital.
Now Imagine if the Boss didn't reset his HP after you heal in the hospital after losing to him.
But basically the boss could get into an injured state, and resetting the boss fight after a loss feels more like a continuation with an injured boss over a real fight.
Which could allow noobs to grind the boss, even if they lose multiple times, and could avoid a potential game over.
