Are you convinced that your designs are that good and actually unique? Posting them will let you have proof that you came up with the designs first.

This. Better post it before someone else just happens to have the same idea and you have to worry about not being able to use your own design lest someone accuses you of stealing.
If your art style is unique enough, it should be fine though.
