Reality:
>Sleep through 4:30 am morning alarm
>Awakened at 4:45 am to the pain of factory enforcers beating your feet and legs with truncheons because you're late for the communal factory bus
>Spend the next twelve to fourteen hours standing on the factory floor in excruciating pain because your shinbone got cracked
>Try to sit down on stool, get beaten again
>Hobble home with your allotment of rice and luncheon loaf meat
>The three other strangers you share a bed with in your single room unit threaten you for disturbing their sleep that morning, so you have to give your food allotment to them to avoid another beating
>cry yourself to sleep in exhaustion telling yourself over and over that it's better this way
