well for starters the world cup was nearly 3 years ago. The players we had starting for us are mostly at differnt teams ( over half our starters were in MLS in 2022), a lot of differnt players and not even the same manager. For a more recent perfomrance we made the semi finals of the copa america last summer and should have came 3rd if it wasnt for a choke to urugauy near the end

but either way yes I stand by that I would feel Canada is better right now than Australia. Mind you ti isnt clear cut
