I'm gonna sound like a seething Europoor but your average American has a standard of living that would certainly at least be upperclass or higher over here. I know it's all because you guys go into debt the moment you start to breathe, but that doesn't change the fact that you guys can have houses, cars, iphones and a television for every room whereas in Europe that shit tends to be for high-earners (or schmucks that also go into debt, but that mindset has not quite caught on as much over here as in the US, but it is certainly coming, the signs are on the wall).
I don't know about Billies financials but if he's buying wannabagos he might just be doing what your average Amerimutt does, that is: living well above his means but appearing not to.
