Me neither until I just thought about it and looked it up. I remeber me and my friend spent 2 whole days switching off playing Mario kart DS online to climb the leaderboards because we read some article in game informer and found a forum that was very competitive. You could customize your player icon in game with a 32x32 pixel image (that’s what AI said, I thought it was like 12x12 but idk), my friend spent over an hour going pixel by pixel to copy a Kirby emblem from a magazine into my game as our emblem.
Old forums were nuts, dark souls was the best tho, there is a huge difference between playing a game, even if it’s online, and then playing a game and going online to a forum and reading and replying to people about the game, the community really makes it. That’s why they took voice chat out of battlefield games, cuz they wanted to kill the community, you can guess why.
