i use the back of drill bits to punch them, but you can also use screwdrivers to get fancier shapes like picrel
any store that carries greenstuffworld products should have both the metal sheets and the wax pencils, i got mine from them

some other annons use fancier die and punch tools to punch them out of styrene sheets, but they are pricey
