You’re putting too much stock on this fighting ring having integrity with its audience that the showrunners can’t just ignore without consequences (like Roman gladiatorial games). Homura focuses on an *illegal* fighting ring, and the founder has a grudge against Suzune because of her father, meaning he has every incentive to bend or break the rules, even his own, if it means getting payback by proxy through Suzune and those in her life. Plus I doubt the audience is *only* there to watch a good fight. They’re probably there to stick their dick in a female loser.
Akina and Miyuri having no and little training, respectively, will be little protection, and the audience will be given a technically true excuse for their participation, if they even care. Akina “knows martial arts”, and Miyuri “trained before” even though she only did that to shore up her sickly body. Neither have a chance against even the steroids guy, but it’s certain they’re meant to lose the fight part and then worked to be mindbroken by the after-action rape and “publicity events” where “fans” get to “meet” them as if they’re a famous wrestler or something.
Plus, I think there’s enough evidence to reasonably conclude that their routes will play out as follows:
Akina:
> When Suzune is ensnared trying to investigate the Ooura sisters, Akina’s loyalty causes her to investigate, catch the attention of the showrunners, and get roped in herself, perhaps with the offer that if she wins or puts on a good show Suzune will be released (and potentially Ran if she’s already involved).
Miyuri:
> Miori submits in exchange for keeping her sister out of it, but the showrunners pull a sneaky and subtly introduce Miyuri to what’s going on, manipulating her into offering to join to help her sister. Or they could just straight-up kidnap her and start sexing her up with intent to despair Miori, as a plan to break Suzune by proxy once she enters the scene.
