Haven't tackled this hack in a year, but I thought it'd be interesting to go back as it was pretty fun. Platinum Redux; a little bit like Renegade Platinum, except even more is changed battle wise (like way more than you're thinking it is) and imo considerably harder. For this reason, I'll be saving after every boss and giving myself 2 chances to beat the next. This does sound kinda cheap, but I got to Hearthome within 3 runs in Renegade Platinum and upto Sabrina in Radical Red without looking at their teams, yet in the ~30 runs I did last year of this hack, I only beat Roark about 5 times and barely managed to get to Floaroma once before wiping to the Galactic Grunt. Even today, before this attempt, I wiped to the Rival's route 203 fight. Yet this hack is incredibly addictive and fun. I'll be posting only when I beat further bosses that I didn't before, or at wipes past Roark.

Something I really like about this game is how it really tries to the earlygame battles interesting. Some status moves, like harden only have 1 pp, while others like Tail Whip, were turned into very low power damaging moves on top of their effects. Little movepool differences, like Sunkern getting Sludge for Dragon types, make every mon play very distinctively (though wurmple and weedle are still pretty similar). With so many modern mechanics in gen 3 hacks, I forgot how much I hate the more frequent and more powerful critical hits. Since it's gen 4, I thought about naming them all moves that're in gen 5 and later, though I did just see a Spinarak with Ariados, so this theming may not work out. Iirc, route 203 and the mines are kind of a guantlet, so I may end up wiping before then.
