Well, women tend to be more communicative with their peers and proactive when it comes to seeking out mental healthcare, but I also think that there persists a large gender bias in diagnostics, with BPD still being stereotyped as a "women's" illness. I was diagnosed bipolar as a guy, but I identify much more with the BPD criteria (and relate much more to my IRL BPD friends than bipolar ones).
Honestly my first thought to this femanon >>33325587 was "fucking run for the hills", but I don't know the guy and how well he's managing/treating his symptoms, so give him a chance perhaps, just be vigilant.
