I've felt a bit of Tolkien's perspective recently when I was in VR and visited a vrchat world called the friendship express, which was a sceneic train trip through the Equestrian countryside with instrumental tracks from FIM in the background. It was supremely cosy and relaxing, almost felt like I could fall asleep in it. Made me wish that much more it was real. I'm no treehugger, but I can't say it didn't give me a bit more distain for the Flim Flam brothers timeline than I used to have.
