does it truly make me a bad person if I see some junky laptop, see that it's visually a mess but otherwise works, but the critical thing making it not issuable is missing a trace in the ethernet port and go "Well, I can just get some scrap wire and replace that one 1cm long line"? Does it make me a bad person if that's the kind of thing I want to fix? Something simple, something easy, something that other people aren't willing to do but I'll at least try.
