How? Did people invest in this game? Did they give anything up to play or pay attention to this game?
It seems more like he's slitting his own throat and people are pointing at him as he dies. I'm saying this as someone who has never heard of this game until now and am not even interested enough to check the Steam page for it. If his game seemed to have any interest or anyone had invested in it, it might have some credence. To me, this seems like a guy who drew a butt in MS, told people there would be more, spent nine years trying to make more and then shot himself in the head. Funny, but solely at his expense.
