Ralsei seemingly was created (by who is still a mystery) as a servitor with a welcoming personality to guide the heroes of the prophecy.
In the chapter two he has a dialogue where he wonders what it is to be Ralsei-like, implying he had no personality of his own before.
The ending of chapter 4 makes it clear that he is now often faking a cheerful demeanor because he has feelings of his own now.
