It's a good solid knife, one of the first I owned.
Absolutely something you could carry daily if the somewhat large size isnt a problem. But I simply cannot support spydercos pricing these days. When I bough mine it was like 27 bucks, for which it's a nice one. Made in china, but solid and with a good enough steel. But now the MSRP is 53, and on BHQ youll get it for like 40. its inching ever closer to the price a proper Endura used to be.

if youre gonna get a meadowlark might as well get a Ganzo 759 instead. just as solid, similar, perhaps slightly better steel 440C, identical size. i'm 99% sure these are made in the same factory. Here's a comparison. The one thing the Byrd might have over the Ganzo is the shape of hole but that's personal preference.
But it costs like 18 bucks from Ganzo directly and i've seen it sold elsewhere as low as 12.
Spyderco design and quality control may be good, and I normally dont support shameless copies, but i dont want to put up with an up to 200% surcharge either.
