I enjoyed it, it's really nice to have the better combat and QOL features to relieve a lot of the tedium of the original game. It's a bit sad that some of the charm of the original got left behind, but it's really not a big deal. As much as I miss the old gritty custom textures a lot of the demons had and the look of the Dark Realm, it really isn't a deal breaker because the game still looks decent. My biggest nitpicks are probably how low-poly a lot of the non-important NPCs and certain demons are and a few weird script changes (with some errors that slipped through the cracks, oops), but it feels like those were just byproducts of budget/time constraints in the case of the blocky models and the awkwardness of transitioning an old game designed around the original's gameplay to new gameplay and trying to make it suit what's expected from games in modern times. I suspect that this game was made relatively cheaply so if it didn't sell well it would still turn a profit, but hey, I'm just some internet user that's making assumptions so I dunno for sure. Its pretty clear to me that they put their time and effort into the most important parts and were simply forced to leave minor things basically untouched, but it paid off because anything would have been an improvement over the way the original played. The voice acting is also much better than expected and actually sort of helps give some spice to the story, but they also have an option to turn off voices which personally I appreciate a lot because sometimes I find voice acting grating.

tl;dr it isn't GOTY or an absolutely perfect remaster but it's good and worth a shot if you haven't played Raidou yet or didn't like the original for the way it played since that's pretty much been improved immensely. Wait for a sale if you're not in a rush and aren't sure if you're 100% sold on it. Or y'know, set sail for the open seas...
