Whisper had a job. A clear, defined purpose. This Mimic fella needed dealin' with. It was her responsibility. A bit messy for my taste, with all the... wispons, but I can respect a person who sees a problem and gets to work. It was a clean narrative.

But now that's done, and her new job is... what? Fightin' Eggman? Dang it, that's not a career path. That's a community chore. That's like takin' out the trash or mowin' the lawn. Everybody's gotta pitch in and deal with Eggman's nonsense now and then. It's just part of living here. You don't make that your whole personality.

It's just lazy. It's like they had a precision-engineered German tool designed for one specific, important task, and now that the task is done, they've just thrown it in the bucket with all the other rusty hammers. She's not special anymore. She's just another person in line to punch a badnik.

What's she gonna do now, just follow that lemur around and look sad? A character needs a proper foundation, a sense of purpose. You can't just hand them the most generic, off-the-shelf motivation available. That's just shoddy craftsmanship, I tell you what. Just shoddy.
