Cancelled comic rushing its plotlines. Nothing new. The conflict with Mimic just ended abruptly. We didn't even get Mimic's final thoughts or anything. He just kills himself and that's the end of it. All in one issue.

The next arcs or rather final issues are likely going to focus on Eggman with Clutch as his goon and resolving Surge and Kit's drama before the plug is pulled on the comic.

Not true though. The Advance games were the ones trying to actually replicate the classics. Heroes being lighthearted was to not alienate newcomers to the series brought on by Sonic X. The Adventure games were GameCube exclusives so making a multiplatform Adventure 3 wouldn't make sense and the PS2/Xbox kids would feel left out of the previous installments. So they made a game with a basic story as a starting point for newcomers
