Doom 2016 is the white rice of NuDooms. I cannot fathom liking it over its sequels, the only thing 2016 has going for itself over the sequels is narrative restraint and avoiding narrative flanderization. In every other metric 2016 is just a very vanilla and simplistic proof-of-concept for a NuDoom, I truly believe the only person to consider it the best one is simply a person who despises NuDoom in general and by default likes the one that is the least developed.
