Metroidsperg thinks Sonic and Metroid are the same because they're both "western", ignoring the fact that shit like Mario, Zelda and the Mother series are heavily western-inspired as well. Mario and Pauline are even based on Popeye and Olive. Hell, Mario is just as, if not more, Western-influenced than Sonic. All these retarded headcanons about why Sonic failed are just guesses and speculation, when the cold, hard fact is that SEGA was a flop outside of their arcade division and the Saturn (which didn't have a mainline Sonic release).
