The weird route appeals to me more than the regular one, at least because it’s more unique. The couch scene is a rare moment of breaking the fourth wall from the player’s perspective, something you don’t often see in games, where it’s usually the other way around.
It’s an interesting concept because, for game characters, we are a genuine chthonic horror, but from our point of view, nothing has changed—what’s incomprehensible and extraordinary for them has been standard game mechanics for us from the very first minute. This shift in perspective is quite intriguing.
Unfortunately, the regular route doesn’t have this yet. I really hope that later on, the regular route will also explore ideas of closer interaction between the player and game characters, and it won’t just be a feature exclusive to the weird route.
