This kind of panelling on the left is bad.
The artist probably thought he was quite clever by drawing the character multiple times in the same image going down the stairs, with lines connecting them together. But it is not clever, it is egotistical, masturbatory. The reader is forced to acknowledge it, it's distracting.

Any decision made in the creation of a comic that breaks immersion is a bad decision.
