No, it actually is a real hunting knife! It's a Cutco hunting knife. They're available on their website for $248. They're made from a "high carbon" 440A, and the handle is thermoplastic that they've been using for a while now, which sounds horrible until you use one and realize that they're actually kind of nice! The hunting knife is sort of a joke, they use 440A and this handle style for all their kitchenware.
Cutco used to (and probably still does) operate as a pyramid scheme. All the Cutco you find in the wild were, at some point, forced upon a family member for an outrageous price. They're probably sitting on a ridiculous stockpile of these knives, and they control the quantity that hits the market just like De Beers does with diamonds, which is really fucking weird for a company that just does mid-range kitchenware but clearly it's working.
