Thanks for the reading ideas. Not familiar with Chinese or Korean side, will look into it. Seems many fox things are acquired from Chinese folklore if Shintan gets referenced in the Konjaku. Best I can think of now is ku owning/having families with scaled things being fed in pots, but that's only adjacent to fox families/owners feeding theirs
