For cheap, shit displays with low peak brightness and no local dimming, sure. But then your picture quality is just garbage from day one in that case, rather than getting worse over time. LED LCDs with local dimming suffer from uneven wear the same as OLEDs, except you just get massive dark blotches on your screen instead of actual burn-in.
Your choice is pretty much buy a cheap, shit screen that'll last forever and look like shit from day one, or buy an expensive monitor that'll look amazing on day one and get progressively worse over the years.
