Multiple people making fun of him is no doubt his default and most commonly experienced reality, yet for some reason he feels forced to lie to himself to pretend that this is not the case. Moreover, he is double lying by claiming to not be triggered about everyone agreeing that grown men participating in shipwars (i.e. Tifa vs Aerith) is caused by autism and loneliness. I'm guess massive insecurity is also a factor as well.
