I used to be a puritan when this game for being a slow console shooter. It was slow and boring. But wouldn't you know I got a chance to actually play the entire trilogy a few years ago and you know what? It's carried by a great story, great campaign co-op, fun as hell vehicle segments, and a few really fun weapons.
I'd still describe it as a millenial console shooter, but it's one of the good ones, considering the George Bush glorification games that came after.
