I asked last thread and got no real explanation.

Why are all militaries in the world basically identical? Why do they all seem to have the same exact style of clothing, culture and tradition?
I can understand that in the art of warfare, keeping up to date with technology and tactics is crucial. Nobody wears cool uniforms on the battlefield anymore, because war evolved to the point of needing camouflage and practical gear.
But like, why the marching? Why the exact same ranks, the same use of medals and colors to decorate soldiers for their success?

It's practically all the same, even in nations that hate the west.

When you imagine a militarized dictator, it's always some officer in the same exact M. Fucking Bison clothing, no matter what country.

Am I going crazy? It just comes off as the most globohomo thing.
