Update on the dirt pile scatter piece. While the cork rocks piled up and slathered in texture paste worked, there are certainly better ways to do it. I used the cork rocks with weight in mind, given the scatter mix has earth and real rocks in it, I thought a big clump of milliput might end up making it a little weighty. Just with the texture paste this one is already quite heavy. For an alternative, I thought of using a clump of crunched up tinfoil. I initially used the cork rocks to create a more natural hill look. You could probably pull it off with the tinfoil. I know some guys use it to save space sculpting large pieces with milliput or green stuff. Though even with the gaps in the large cork rocks filled in with smaller cork bits, I had to slather on a considerable amount of texture paste. Luckily I have a bunch of it that is drying up so I just used a bunch of that. Decided to extend the base by adding a second smaller base to it by strapping it on with some styrene I had laying around and fusing them together with superthin plastic cement. I also found a little shovel and stuck it in a pile of texture paste to add to the ambience.
Now I will put on the scatter mix And affiix the wheelbarrow to the base.
