Also to add onto this, I would still classify shots that involve looking up a shirt, dress, kimono (and any similar clothing that has an open underside made for viewing) to be considered as an upskirt shot even though there is no skirt technically present, since the manner of viewing the panties is the same regardless. If you wanna be super technical about it, call it an upshirt shot, updress shot, or upkimono shot, I don't know. There really should be a general term for it. I think most people just use upskirt shot as the general term even when it's not specifically a skirt being looked up
