Life has meaning because it ends. An eternal life would be meaningless. Everything you know and love will become meaningless after a long enough timespan. I don't really understand why this concept is so difficult for people to comprehend. I mean you were dead for billions of years before you were born so I don't understand why death would be particularly bad. I'm more afraid of the act of dying itself than I am of death
I think what helped me was stumbling into some lectures and speeches by Alan Watts. He was an alcoholic hippie and his work has been coopted by 2020s new age faggots but I still think what he has to say about death is rather to the point
