I grew up watching Just for Laughs Stand up on tv like all day after school as it was on ALL the fucking time. Stand up was actually good back then. It was cringey sure, like most of it was aimed at older people and couples who were conservative-light.
Patrice Oniel was on there at one point. So was Rich Voss. Colin Quinn, etc.
Montreal in the 90s and early 2000s was peak inoffensive but funny comedy. Canada had a really good vibe back then. Red Green show. This Hour has 22 Minutes. Kids in the Hall. Bob and Doug.
It all went to shit. When the Progs got a hold of Canada in like 2005, it was all killed. All of it. Montreal is a shell of it's former self. Comedy must be political or silent.
