Actually, there´s a theory that Valamon used to be a Hundred Guardian but was looked down upon amongst his peers because he was built smaller and nimble (you can tell by looking into his stats and noticing that his strength is lower than theirs, but his dexterity is higher).
So that would make him into another Shek renegade, with the difference that he moved to the east and presumably grew obsessed with control after getting a following of slaves and finally not being looked down upon, but rather admired as a king.
