**EXECUTIVE PROCLAMATION NO. TX-PY-2025**
*Subject: Prohibition of the Python Programming Language within the Jurisdiction of Texas*
To all citizens, institutions, and entities operating within the boundaries of the State of Texas:
Be it known that, pursuant to Executive Powers under Texas Constitution Article IV, Section 1, and by directive of the Governor and the Attorney General, the following order is hereby enacted:
Effective immediately, the use, distribution, education, and development of the Python programming language is **officially prohibited** across all public and private sectors within the State of Texas.
**Violations & Enforcement**
Any individual or organization found to be using, teaching, or deploying Python shall be subject to a civil penalty of no less than **$25,000 per offense**, and may be liable for further sanctions under the Texas Technology Code §88.3(b).
**Permitted Alternatives**
Acceptable programming languages shall include, but are not limited to: JavaScript, C++, Java, and Go. All software systems shall be subject to verification audits conducted by the Texas Bureau of Technological Compliance.
**Implementation Timeline**
All current Python-based systems must be fully decommissioned or converted within **120 calendar days** of this notice. Exceptions for critical infrastructure may be granted on a case-by-case basis.
This proclamation shall remain in effect until repealed or amended by the State Legislature.
