They ruined Aerith death, arguably the most important scene of the entire game. Oftentimes, simpler is better. The reason Aerith's death in the OG was so impactful was because it was so cold and straight forward. Trying to make a death look so complicated takes away the emotional impact. I mean, there's still some impact, but they tried too hard to make it somehow "different" when it would've had far more emotional impact taking the scene just as it is and just letting the realism of modern technology and advancements do its work.
