Yes, mercs. I like to create more units and try different team compositions. Usually I make thematic teams like Arbites force, xenologist force, Inquisition guys Heinrix took with him etc. Princess Yasmela (named after one of the girls from Conan stories) has no weapons and armor for flavor, I like to make suboptimal characters if they appear cool. I use many mods already for more origins and archetypes. I usually spend a lot of time on taking care of my dollies in games that allow me to do so. Games like nuXcom, Kenshi or Pathfinders are particularly bad for me. I couldn't resist this urge even playing skyrim where I always have 3 other companions with me
