You would have loved the older system. Keep in mind you got 800 plasteel, 300 diamantine and 30'000 to 80'000 ordo dockets per auric game (25-40 minutes).
1. Find a 470+ base weapon (200'000 to 500'000 ordo dockets)
2. Does it have a decent stat distribution?
3. Upgrade it to green (~150 plasteel). Does it have an ok perk at an ok level?
4. Upgrade it to blue (~200 plasteel). Does it have the right blessing at the right level?
5. Upgrade it to purple (~350 plasteel, ~125 diamantine). Is the second perk fine?
6. Upgrade it to orange (~600 plasteel, ~300 diamantine). Are you satisfied with the second blessing? Did you beat the odds and got a decent weapon despite the 10 layers of RNG?
If at any point the answer is no, go back to step 1. Not all is lost though! You can change 2 perk/blessing per weapon so keep rolling the dice :)
Of course two jokers is a bit too generous without caveats. You have to find and sacrifice a blessing first before being able to apply it to other weapons. Ah, I mean specific levels of a blessing. Yes the 4 different levels (usually. There are blessings exclusive to certain levels. You will not roll manstopper).
