Every fucking time that happens it turned out that the trigger was actually just fully pulled, either from someone fingering the trigger while holstering or unholstering, like an idiot, or because they used an unsuitable leather holster which deformed and bumped the trigger.
You don't need either of those for the P320, the sear on it may or may not slip off even from the slightest travel of the trigger. They didn't have a big crease in their holster pushing up against the trigger all the way, they weren't fingering the trigger while handling it, something else (even just inertia), gave the trigger the slightest and ittiest and bittiest push, and then at some point later the sear slipped.
You can say that maybe the Glock isn't entirely ideal for military and police service on that point, given the unfortunately not rare lack of sense in those fields, and perhaps they would do better with an added manual safety or grip safety for that (not that this would fix the standardized ineptitude of the NYPD, though), but the P320 is in a much more dire need for a much more serious change to be acceptable.
